Absinthe walked through the decrepit stone archway, her skin crawling with goosebumps. Her hands shook as she crossed her arms, her short breaths fogging the air around her. A snapped twig under her foot echoed through the quiet as she slowly stumbled on. What a night to get lost, she thought. Pain shot through her leg like lightning as her foot caught on a headstone and sent her tumbling down, hitting the ground with a thud. Laying there for what seemed like ever, she stuck her head out like a turtle to make sure nothing noticed her. Once she was satisfied, she got herself up to her feet and continued on, trying to find a safe place to stay for the remainder of the night.
